One of the many tools in a blog SEO arsenal is image optimization for blog sites. Blog SEO or search engine optimization as it's known simply places your blog's blog description, keywords, titles, and image descriptions into the meta tags and title tags of each page on your blog site. Image optimization for blog sites should be thought out carefully in order not to just place any old photograph in your post. The photo should be optimized to have the greatest impact on your potential visitors and your blog audience so that you can have an increase in blog hits and traffic.
There are several ways to optimize images for blog SEO. For example, do you include both text and images on each blog page? Or do you limit the use of text only? If you only use text, are there any special places within the text that you could optimize the images for? Answering these questions will help you optimize your images for blog SEO.
Some common image optimization tags that I've seen used are: image-name, image-size, image-art, image-weight, and image-thumbs-position. Image-name is extremely important, as this will dictate what tags you need to place on each image. The other three tags I find useful are image-size, image-alt, and image-weight. With image-size, you can specify the size of each picture, which will be needed by the blog's code to make the image appear at its best. Image-alt is used to center the image on the blog page, while image-weight will increase the size of the image when it's downloaded. With image-thumbs-position, you tell the code which blog pages should show the images, while image-alt will specify the anchor text of the image for the hyperlink to follow.
